Karen, from Rochdale, Lancashire, England, sent in this great idea. Let’s take a look at it…

What did you do?

It was my daughters 12th Birthday and we couldn’t do the usual celebrations with her friends. We had been lucky to have a trip to Disneyland Paris in February and had the most magical time so I decided to set up Camp Disney at home and make it a full weekend.

We had the most amazing weekend. We bought a yurt, made a camp site sign, the weather was not kind to us and the camping was not great.  Water got in the tent In the night, so I came up with plan B for the second night and made indoor camp Disney. We played Disney bingo, pin the bow on Minnie, name that tune, We had a Disney quiz, I had bought Disney face masks and foot treatments and we had a spa with the hot tub, we also planned an outdoor cinema but again due to weather we brought that inside we watched all our favourite Disney films and the Disneyland parades and shows even went on the virtual rides.

I also had a poster of the castle that we posed for photos with and had Disney theme afternoon tea. I made all the signs and personalised sweet cones, sweets and popcorn we had lanyards and wristbands to make it more authentic. We all had a fantastic weekend and didn’t leave home.

Do you have any other projects planned?

I love party planning I always have many people tell me I should do it professionally I get so much joy from planning, paying attention to detail and visualising how it will all come together.
