Rach, from Leicestershire, UK, sent in this great idea, making car tunnels. Let’s take a look…

What did you make?

We made Car Tunnels.

Who knew you could have so much fun with wrapping paper tubes?!
All I had to do to create these tunnels was to sellotape the ends of the paper together to make the tube shape more secure. I then used a marker to draw the road lines on. So simple!

I set this activity up to use these as car tunnels, but it went from using them as car tunnels to using them as robotic arms, playing peek-a-boo through them, giving ourselves humungous ears! Then we fixed them with some tools (apparently they were very broken ) & then later in the day we flattened them & used them as tracks for his fave vehicles!
Love how creative he got with three simple tubes! It just shows you don’t need to buy all of the latest toys to have fun with your bubbas

Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…

I am Rach, based in Leicestershire. I have two young children – a little lad who is 21 months old, & a little lady who is 6 months old

How are you finding being housebound so far?

I have found both positives & not so positive things whilst being housebound. It obviously makes it more difficult not having others available to support physically, as you are never able to take a break. But the positives far outweigh this for me. I have loved watching both of my little ones come on so much during this time! Plus there has been more quality family time.

Do you have any tips for other parents?

❤

Use simple activities to entertain where you can.
Change the activities/toys regularly with the really little ones, as their concentration span is not so long when they are very little.
Don’t be too, hard on yourself. You are doing the best that you can
