Do your children need practice using scissors? This colorful lion craft is a beautiful activity that will really engage your children; as it’s its developing fine motor skills whilst having fun.

Thanks to Arzu, from Istanbul, who sent in this great colorful lion scissor craft idea. Let’s take a look at it…

What did you do?

The use of scissors helps fine muscles to work, as well as a useful activity for hand-eye coordination. If children are interested, work can be started with safe scissors around the age of 2-2.5.

If we come to our colorful lion scissor game, the lion mane and scissors activity is one of the very popular games. I interpreted this game in our own way. As you can see, there are various shapes on the manes. I do not expect them to follow the line at this stage. I know we have a little more time. My goal is to create eye familiarity, to create an idea in their minds.

We cut our lion’s manes by tearing a little bit outside the line a little. Then we punched holes in the lion’s eyes and made a mask. The idea came out of my son and I admit I was very happy. The fact that he comes up with an idea, dreams and turns it into a game is a sign that I am on the right track.

Make it colorful, to exercise their hand and finger muscles, to let my children move together and to use their productivity.
