Holly, from Milborne Port, Dorset, must know what we like here at HWK HQ. Let’s take a look at this yummy fudge recipe…

What did you do?

Slow cooker cookies and cream fudge!! So simple to make.

Ingredients:

  • 500g white chocolate
  • 1 tin of condensed milk
  • 1 packet of cookies

Method:

Melt the white chocolate and condensed milk in the slow cooker on low for 40 mins, stirring every 10 minutes, bash the cookies up in a sandwich bag with a rolling pin, add half the cookies to the mix and stir, pour the mix into a lined baking tray, spread it out and add the remaining cookies to the top of the mix, set in the fridge over night and then slice and eat!!

Make sure you stir the chocolate and don’t leave it on to long as the chocolate will go lumpy! It needs to be a nice smooth consistency! This can also be done with Oreos!

Do you have any other projects planned?

Covid-19 time capsule!

Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…

My name is Holly, I’m 34 and have two children who are both hearing impaired. My son Arthur is 7 and my daughter Pippa is 2. We moved to Dorset, England a week before the lockdown began!

How are you finding being housebound so far?

I have loved being at home with my children, we both usually work and have missed out on so much! Now I have chosen to remain a stay at home Mum for the foreseeable future as I’ve recognised that the only people who need me right now are my kiddies!! Don’t get me wrong we’ve had tough days but somehow we’ve survived!!

Do you have any tips for other parents?

Patience, empathy, routine and a massive snack draw!!

Has being part of our community helped you?

I think it’s brilliant and exactly what us parents need in these testing times!
