Gina, from the USA, sent in this great volcano activity idea, that you can then use to create a swamp city. Let’s take a look…

What did you do?

We started with a create your own volcano bar! I split baking soda between 6 bowls & squirted food coloring in, mixing until they were vibrant!

Next, I gave each kiddo an empty bowl. They choose their colors & Used a spoon to layer them in.

Next, I gave them a Small container of vinegar, a dropper & a squirt bottle. They exercised their finger muscles & squeezed & squirted the vinegar in to create a magical & colorful eruption!

When they were done, we dumped all of their creations into a big bin & it made a green, murky color. It looked like swamp city! We grabbed our dinosaurs & got to work splashing & stomping & exploring away!

It was hands-on & exciting for the kiddos! They loved choosing their own colors, experimenting with the quantity of the baking soda & watching how the magic erupted & bubbled over!

Then, they loved stomping & splashing their dinos in the swamp! Two activities in one, both driven by their interests. It held their attention & sparked their creativity!
