Faye, from North Wales, sent in this great idea on homemade playdough. Let’s take a look at it…

What you will need:

  • 1 cup (230ml) warm water
  • lots of dandelion heads
  • 2 tablespoons of veg oil
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) of salt
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • yellow food colouring (optional)

Instructions:

  • Break up the dandelion heads put them & the water into a blender and blend until all the heads are broken up
(You don’t have to blend it but I found it easier)
  • In separate bowl mix the oil, salt, flour, food colouring, lemon juice and the blended dandelion heads , mix together until your happy with the texture then your done! Easy as that.

Tell us a bit about yourself

My name is Faye, I set up a group on Facebook a while ago called World of Walsh to post all our creations to help others out. I’m married & I have 6 children; 4 girls & 2 boys. Ages 15, 12, 10, 7, 4, and a 22-month-old. Well, actually we have 9 children between us & a grandson. I’m a dinner lady at a local school and we live in north Wales.

How are you finding life being housebound?

I absolutely love it. It’s like a new way of life. No set times, no rush, we do a lot more things outdoors now. I feel more of a family & not just passing ships… if I had more room I’d definitely homeschool my children.

Do you have any tips for other parents?

Just do you! There is no right or wrong way we just do what we can and to a child that’s everything to them. I have days where I don’t want to do anything at all & that’s ok, we all need time to do nothing sometimes.

What’s your next project idea:

I tend to do something with my children everyday to stop us all being bored. Either nature trails involving sensory things, or our game that we made up SPIN THE MATHS, bird feeders, and lots more.
