Donna, from Cambridgeshire in the UK, like many others in the Housebound with Kids community, has had a go at recycling a plastic milk carton into Elmer the Elephant. Doesn’t it look great!

What did you do?

We used an old milk carton cut the handle to make the trunk and the bottom to make the feet and painted squares and stuck them to make Elmer.

This is a really easy activity you could also use coloured tissue paper too.

Have you got anything else planned?

Next activity I’m doing is the hungry caterpillar.

Tell us a bit about yourself…

My name is Donna I have 2 children Sofia 4 and Rosie 16 months. I have my own beauty business in Brampton Cambridgeshire England.

How are you finding life in lockdown?

There are Days which are a struggle with 2 small children but I’m enjoying all the arts and crafts with them and trying to keep them as focused as possible.

Do you have any tips that may help others?

My tip to other mums with housebound kids is to take each day as it comes as we all know children can be very unpredictable especially when their routine is a little out of place at the moment.

Try and keep them busy I love doing crafts and my girls love getting involved and it’s a great way to keep them busy for a few hours.

I have only just joined the Housebound for Kids group, but I think it’s a great way to get a close community together for parents & carers, etc to come together and support one another.
