Seema, from Leeds, UK, and family created this kid’s art keepsake. Let’s take a look at it…

What did you do?

My 3 y.o. loves to draw portraits of mummy daddy and herself. Every inch of the drawing space she has gets used up with these family portraits. She has been making more detailed images, of late, so I thought why not convert them into lockdown memorabilia/ keepsake.

I just picked her recent drawings on a cardboard, cut them out, Topped them with coloured paper adding some details and attached yarn for hair. They now hold a pride of place in a box frame above the fireplace.

How are you finding being housebound so far?

Most if the time we love being home and doing art and craft, jumping around without a care in the world. But we miss seeing friends and other people and going away on a holiday. We do hope the lockdown doesn’t last through summer.

Do you have any tips for other parents?

I am a stay at home mum with one child so its easier for me than most. But I try to stay as positive as I can which children sense and thrive on. I have seen my girl grow more confident and outspoken since we have more time to talk and there’s no rush to go anywhere. Ask your partners to take care of the child. Set a schedule when they are fully responsible for the child and you are free.
