Julie 46 and her daughter Grace 16 took some old canvasses and gave them a new lease of life. Let’s see how they created their masterpieces….

Tell us what you did…

We took 2 canvas off our wall that were boring and painted over them in a cream dulux Matt wall Paint. Once dried my daughter Grace drew the outline of the elephant which she found off Pinterest. She started with the face using Acrylics and oil paints, blending together. She then did rectangle shapes using a small square end paint brush for the ears. Stripes for the nose. For the tusks she cut little squares of White paper for texture and Stuck them on and went over them with acrylic paint. The bottom background was blends of blue oils and white. As for the tree, this was mine I did a background of dulux paint in cream and then found a tree painting off Pinterest and basically copied it by drawing the tree trunk first and then dabbing lots of little colours for the flowers!

Took us about 10 hours for each painting but for an older child during this lock down, it was great fun for mum and daughter! They are now hanging in my hall and landing!!
