Jen, from Kent, tells us how to create fruit rainbows, yum!

What did you do?

I created a rainbow out of fruit for our breakfast. It only required ensuring we had fresh fruit for each colour of the rainbow. For this one, I used: strawberries, mangos, bananas, kiwis, blueberries, and grapes.

I was thrilled that such a variety of fruit was coming into season and it was lovely to celebrate it. My little one even said, “oh mummy, rainbow!” when I showed him. He wasn’t keen on the kiwi which needed a little more time to ripen, but devoured everything else!

How are you finding being housebound so far?

I’ve found it challenging. Working from home while keeping a toddler occupied has been tough.

Do you have any tips for other parents?

I now approach each day like I do with teaching. I spend time in the evening, planning and setting up for the next day. While it’s a bit of work in the evening, it has meant that my little one is able to get stuck in to playing/activities while I get on with some work. Time I spend with him is playing and reading rather than trying to come up with activities while managing work.
