Louise, from Leicester, shows us her Funny Bones Fun…

What did you do?

Funny Bones crafts.
We love the funny bones books. We used cotton buds, chalk pens, glue and black paper for these. You will need to help with cutting the cotton buds as it can be tough for little hands.
We made a dog skeleton and a human skeleton.

Younger children will need adult help to draw the details with chalk pens to work around. Cutting through cotton buds is tough so adult supervision and assistance will be needed for this.

Do you have any other projects planned?

I plan to do a learning activity on the frog life cycle with chia seed messy play as frog spawn.

Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…

My own children are ages 7 and 4. I have been studying at home in early years subjects and childcare. I have a keen interest in learning through play and love messy play!  I am from the Midlands, UK

How are you finding being housebound so far?

Challenging at times but love planning activities and this has kept us all busy. My husband is a key worker (doctor) so I have been doing it all alone. I find planning for each day works best.

Do you have any tips for other parents?

Keep looking for new ideas and inspiration, there is tons online! Link activities to books they enjoy.

Has this website and community helped you?

Its given me lots of ideas.
