Abbie from the UK shows us how she brought the beach to her family. Let’s take a look…

What did you do?

So I’d be seeing sandpits and we have the beach on our doorstep, but at the minute I’m a little paranoid to go due to eldest who’s 9 being high risk due to a condition and asthma we have been self-isolating since 9th march also decided to take them out of school .

Well, we’ve had lots of fun days at home, so I wanted a bring the beach to us. The big pool was up. I asked My dad to make me a sandpit box frame …he had these bits of wood and made the frame ( I’m no good at wood but looks pretty easy after looking at it ) tarpaulin and 15kg sandbags which were £2.50 from b&m.

Tarpaulin on the floor make sure its bigger than the sandpit 2 plus sides any spilt sand goes on that and at end of the day wrap it up the sand that’s spilt will flick back into the box.    The first photo with nobody in the sandbox that was 4 bags of sand, then we got an extra 5 to make is deeper enough for all my three girls which are 2, 7 and 9.    They absolutely love it, then we made shade with quilt cover sheets .

How have you found being housebound for so long?

Being indoors since 9th march has been difficult. Some days after harder than others but gladly we have a garden and if you were thinking of doing a sandpit go for it best thing I even managed to have time to myself in the pool whilst all three were on the “beach” haha.
