Demi, from East Yorkshire, made this great fairy garden. Let’s take a closer look…

What did you do?

Fairy Garden using Tyres

I used some old tyres that was given by a friend, lined them with felt and then filled them with mud/soil. Pinched some stones from my sisters drive, bark from my dads garden.

I made the ladders, bench and swing from sticks and glued together with a glue gun. The grass, little fence, toadstools, house (which is actually a birdbox turned upside down) is all from Amazon.

I used the bottom on a milk bottle for the pond. Still a few extra little bits to add yet but my little boy loves it.

Tell us a bit about yourself…

My name is Demi, I’m 26 from East Yorkshire and I have a little boy Ronnie who is 20 months. We haven’t found being housebound too bad, some days my son gets fed up as he was used to spending so much time with his nephews. We try to keep as busy as possible, the sunshine has helped. We have spent most days in the pool. I also try to keep him entertained with a lot of messy play such as, gloop, (cornflour and water) lentils and diggers, ice play, foam play, jelly, moons, painting/stamping with potatoes, water beads and many more!

Just recently, me and my sister Megan also started off the ‘Covid 19 Snake Goole’ where people paint and decorate colourful stones or pebbles and place them down forming a snake. It has kept the community together in such uncertain times and put smiles on not only the children faces but also the elderly in the bungalows nearby. Its kept all the school friends connected as they can all see on our facebook page each other placing the stones down, also my nephew Noah can now see it from his bedroom window as it now reaches over 300 stones. You can follow this on facebook under ‘Covid – 19 Snake- Goole’.

We have kept busy at home by creating things out of toilet roll tubes, tigers, giraffes and elephants. Also the Hungry Caterpillar using an egg box.
