Sean, from Warfield, Berkshire, sent in this great idea. Let’s take a look at it…

What did you do?

Hand washing station for my wife’s childminding business.

We made a hand washing station a child’s height for when they return from school to my wife’s childminding setting. This was made from up cycling materials. We used pallets from my work and we were donated a chest of drawers from Facebook which was used also. This was sanded down and oiled to protect the wood.
The children can dispense hand soap onto their hands and the water container washes this off. A poster is attached to the front of the washing station to remind them to count to 20 while rubbing in the soap into their hands

Do you have any other projects planned?

Building a drinks trolley to go next to my bar.

Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…

My name is Sean, I am married with 4 children. My eldest is Callum and he is 13yrs, Connor is 10yrs, Lenny is 7yrs and Lauren is 6 yrs old. We live in Berkshire in the UK.
I work as a site Forman for a construction company and my wife is a childminder (Lisa’s Littluns).

How are you finding being housebound so far?

I have now returned to work, but I truly enjoyed spending time with my children during Covid 19 lockdown doing projects together.

Do you have any tips for other parents?

Try some small projects together as children are always willing to learn.
