We show you how you can make your own Homemade Advent Calendar. Read on for more information and enjoy customising your own!

Thanks to Elodie, from Singapore, who sent in this great homemade advent calendar idea. Let’s take a look at it…

What did you do?

All you need for this calendar are 24 toilets rolls, some craft paper, glue and 24 surprises for your kids (we had some bubble bath, chocolates, vouchers -think ice cream or hot chocolate-, messages about empathy and gratefulness, old toys that haven’t been played with in a while, some beads to create a bracelet, etc.).

It’s super customisable!

You get to curate what goes in the calendar so you are sure that your kids will love every day. It’s also reusing material we had at home so it can be as environmentally friendly as you wish it to be.

Do you have any tips for other parents?

Be Creative. Get the pencils, paint, and beads out. I find that drawing with our boys brings the energy level down.
