Here is a stunning recycling craft for you to make: plastic bag pumpkins! These beautiful pumpkins are easy to make and beautiful to display over Halloween. A fun autumnal/ fall craft for all.

Thanks to Delaney, from Brentwood, Essex, who sent in this great pumpkin craft idea. Let’s take a look at it…

What did you do?

Here is a perfect Autumnal crafting activity to do with your little ones – making pumpkins out of old plastic bags.

What you will need:
* A plastic bag ( an orange one)
* Stuffing old clothes/ recycled packaging…
* Tape
* String
* Twigs
* Faux leaves
* Pinecones

Method:
* Get the plastic bag
* Cut it into a circle (you should get 2circles each circle will make a pumpkin)
* Lay the circle down on the table
* Place the stuffing in the centre of the circle
* Try and wrap the bag around it like a parcel taping to secure it.
* Using the string divide the parcels into quarters or even more…to get the desired effect of a pumpkin.
* Add the twig in the middle to look like a stalk
* You can add faux leaves or pinecones or even ribbon if you like.

Ta da, your waterproof recycled plastic bag pumpkins are done!

Do you have any tips for other parents?

Try and get them to craft and create.. even if you don’t think you can. You don’t need to be an artist just need to have some imagination. The fun is
actually creating together rather than what you make.

What are your family’s favourite board game(s)/card game(s)?

We love all types of board games and card games.

What are your children’s favourite books?

Roald Dahl, is my absolute favourite and still is.

What toys would you recommend to other parents?

Toys that are made of wood, and natural materials it may look boring to the eye but enhances the child’s creativity

Has this website and community helped you?

I love this website it has fantastic ideas for you and little ones.
