Joanna, from United Kingdom, sent in this great idea. Let’s take a look at it…

What did you do?

I made purple and blue jelly cubes. To do this I just used gelatine sachets and followed the instructions to set as much liquid as I needed.
Once set, I cut the jelly into cubes and put them in a large tub. I then put some sea animals on top of the jelly.

My daughter really loved this activity.
It provided lots of sensory experiences for example she was picking up the blocks and squashing them in her hands. She told me it felt cold and squishy.
We were also naming all the sea animals, great opportunities for new vocabulary.
In the end she climbed into the tub and smeared jelly all over herself so it’s safe to say she enjoyed it!

I’m Joanna. I live in Birmingham, England. I have one daughter who is two years old and constantly needs entertaining!

How are you finding being housebound so far?

It’s not been easy finding ways to keep my daughter busy and happy. However I have loved getting to spend so much quality time with her and having the time to set up more fun activities for her

Do you have any tips for other parents?

Remember to take care of yourself! Happy parents, happy kids!
