Selina, from Gosport, sent in this great idea. Let’s take a look at it…

What did you do?

Hello all Iโ€™ve put together some picture tutorials on how I made my KFC cake which has now gone viral!
First off shape your rice crispy treat into chicken pieces, I made drumsticks hot wings and thighs. Once shaped coat your chicken with crushed cornflakes to give it the effect of breaded chicken!
For the fries I used a basic shortbread bread recipe and shaped the mix into skinny fries. Once baked airbrush with autumn leaf food colouring to give the effect of being deep fried. Once youโ€™ve finished airbrushing sprinkle a little caster sugar over the fries for the salt ๐Ÿ˜‰.
Corn on the cob can be made with fondant it cake wrapped in fondant. As shown in pics roll out your fondant and score with a knife to make little squares. For the butter I used a little piece of light yellow fondant.

If you have the time and want to make the beans then hereโ€™s how I made those. Just roll out lots and lots of little fondant balls and set aside to dry out and harden, mix up some royal icing and add orange and autumn leaf or brown food colouring for the bean juice.
For the gravy youโ€™ll need a little butter cream mixed with royal icing and colour it brown and yellow.
For the drink I just baked a cake used a cookie cuttier and placed the cake In layers and made a dark chocolate ganache. And for the ice I use glacier mints! Once the drink is made to give the wet look I used a corn syrup glaze.
For the actual bucket just bake and stack the cake I used 7 and 8inch sized cakes for this one. Shape into the famous bucket and ganache the outside before covering with fondant so the cake is more sturdier for your chicken pieces.

Do you have any other projects planned?

I will be making some other food themed cakes and post tutorials for those too!

Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…

Hello! Iโ€™m Selina Mccloud, owner of Tiers Of Joy.
Iโ€™ve been baking cakes for around 7 years now and turns out Iโ€™m not that bad at making a food themed cake ๐Ÿ˜† Iโ€™m obsessed with food anyway and when I get any spare I use it to make cakes that look like takeaways or other foods. Itโ€™s great when you see the reaction you get when you show your cakes to people. A lot of the time I get asked to show the cake cut as people canโ€™t believe itโ€™s actually a cake!
