It’s Birthday Time! But what if they don’t like cake?! Here is a fantastic non- cake centrepiece. Here we show you how to make Sweet Numbers.

Please note- you don’t have to dislike cake to make this…if you like cake… you can do this in addition to your cake!

What did you do?

We made Sweet Numbers- as an alternative to cake!

I drew round number templates, then used thick icing sugar to blob on the bottom of the marshmallows (flumps). I held them in place with cocktail sticks (lots of!!!)
Finally, fill with your favourite sweets/ chocolate.
This could also be done with letters.

Filling the numbers with sweets at the end and seeing my daughters face.

Do you have any other projects planned?

I love to bake so something for my other who does like cake!

My names Suzanne and I’m a Teaching Assistant. I live in Buckinghamshire in England. I have two children Shannon 15 and Lexie 11.

Do you have any tips for other parents?

Lots of activities to keep the children busy, exploring outside areas when possible.

What are your family’s favourite board game(s)/card game(s)?

Our family favourite is Monopoly and Uno. Games in our house get really competitive!!

What are your children’s favourite books?

Over the years my girls have enjoyed reading books by J.K Rowling, David Williams, Edin Blyton and Roald Dahl.

What toys would you recommend to other parents?

Lego, dolls, arts and crafts.

Has this website and community helped you?

These have given me so many amazing ideas during lockdown and after. Such a great thing to set up and help/inspire people.
