Would you like to make your own advent calendar? Here we show you how to create one using wet wipe lids! One that you can reuse every year!

Thanks to Cristyn, from London, who sent in this great wet wipe advent calendar idea. Let’s take a look at it…

What did you do?

Collect 24 (25 if you want one to open on Christmas day) wet wipe plastic packets with plastic windows. Cut off the packet and keep the windows with the door attached.

Collect 24 pictures or photos to hide behind the windows. Arrange the windows on a large piece of card or wood (I painted a piece of MDF like a house) and sticking pictures and then windows to the card so when you open the windows you find the pictures.

Using a marker pen number windows 1 to 24 and hey presto one upcycled advent calendar.

Instead of photos, you can write activities to do behind each window.

Easy to do and keeps plastic from landfill.

Do you have any tips for other parents?

Keep it simple and don’t worry if it doesn’t turn out as planned, just enjoy the making and bonding part.
