Felicia, from Philadelphia, sent in this great idea to celebrate the end of the school year. Let’s take a look at it…

What did you do?

For my sons’ last day of school I wanted to make it extra special.

What better way to celebrate the end of 3rd grade and the Graduation from Kindergarten then with mommy magic obstacle courses. Especially since this year had so many obstacles from the kids starting a new school in February and then the pandemic hitting and moving to home school.

I thought the last obstacle should be fun and once they completed this obstacle course they are 4th grader and a 1st grader.

Then we had an award ceremony they both received two awards.

Then we gave them little end of the year gifts.

This end of the year obstacle course had:

  • 20 helium balloons taped to the floor
  • 80 something blue and yellow ,( school color ) balloone from streamers
  • 2020 graduation caps on the floor for them to collect
  • 17 stars hanging from the ceiling
  • 8 stars on the floor to collect
  • cupcakes, candy , pepperoni and cheese tray, juice,
  • sparklers
  • bubbles
  • flowers

This obstacle course was last minute, I usually just do balloons but this year I needed to do something extra special.

I was trying to make the helium balloons a wall but the shape of the stars didnt allow that to work. What did work was alot of tap and tapping them to the floor lol.

Do you have any other projects planned?

My next fun thing I am currently working on is a batman themed obstacle course.

Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…

I’m felicia. I’m a stay at home mom. I have 3 children 9, 6, and 6 months. I am from the States. I love to create fun magical moments for my children I call it my “mommy magic”. I believe ever parent has some magic in them to create a magical childhood for their children. I love to set up their toys and have them bake the kids cookies and treats and I will have the toys take selfies and vidoes, I also create my mommy magic obstacle courses .

Do you have any tips for other parents?

Try to make ordinary moments magical. Our children only get one childhood.

Set up fun courses, or let them pretend to be hosting a cooking show.

Has being part of our community helped you?

I am really enjoying it so far.
