Claire, from Henley on Thames, sent in this great idea. Let’s take a look at it…

What did you do?

I bought two frames from Dunelm (one for each daughter) with different shaped picture inserts. I then took my favourite art pieces from their time at nursery and put them in the frame. Putting all the colours together made a beautiful memory for both of them.

Very easy to do – you could pick a theme or palette of colour but anything goes. It meant I didn’t feel guilty about throwing the remainder away. Given the age group, it’s not always their finest work 😉

Do you have any other projects planned?

Another simple one: I have taken lots of photos documenting lockdown; from homeschooling to dog walks. Every month I have taken advantage of snapfish ‘50 free prints’ and will be making an old school photo album of this time for the girls with captions.

Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…

Claire from Henley on Thames. Working mother, married with 2 girls aged 3&5 years.

How are you finding being housebound so far?

Has its ups and downs but overall lots of fabulous memories made and have learnt some new skills and perfected baking flapjacks!

Do you have any tips for other parents?

Do whatever makes you happy. Don’t bother with things that stress you out. Be kind to yourself and remember, they love to be with you. I generally find, if I exercise them and me, we are all happy. Also, never get hangry.

Has being part of our community helped you?

All the Facebook groups have been a lifeline as I am not the most creative. So many simple ideas that we can draw from for years for all age groups. I hope they grow and the ideas flourish.
