When a paper emergency struck, Alyssa, from Illinois, gets imaginative with her family’s painting activity!…

What did you do?

My 3-year-old daughter wanted to paint but we had no paper or canvas in the house. My desperate search for an alternative solution came to a halt when I opened my closet and saw the dog pee pads. I grabbed one and set it out and realized it also had an adhesive strip that would keep it from sliding on the floor! Win-win! I squirted the paints on the pad and she went to town!

I used washable paints to keep messes easy to clean-up. I probably could have used several pee pads to keep her extra entertained and more space to paint.

Do you have anything else planned?

Our next project idea on the pee pads is to paint 3 shelter-in-place houses and add her footprint using pink paint to each house to represent the “three little piggies.” We will paint one house made of sticks, bricks & straw. Who knows, maybe my husband’s footprint or mine could be the big bad wolf!

Tell us a bit about yourself…

My name is Alyssa and I have one daughter, age 3. We are from the USA (Illinois).

Is being housebound a challenge?

It was a challenge at first because we would go to weekly classes and outings. We have been keeping busy with fun creative projects that this group provides us with and getting outside when the weather is nice! We spent a good 30 minutes picking up magnolias off the grass in our backyard the other day and turned that into a game! Whatever keeps her entertained works for me!
