Dawn, from Scotland, sent in this great idea. Let’s take a look at it…

What did you do?

All you need is some pegs and a fence or something to put the pegs onto.

Simply let your children go wild with the pegs or demonstrate putting the pegs onto the fence and then stand bag letting your little ones get creative.

To make it more challenging for older children, you can make it a competitive game of who can peg the most in a certain. Length of time or who can peg and unpeg them all the fastest.

Sometimes little hands struggle to squeeze open the pegs. My little one then balanced the pegs upside down on the fence and in time developed the fine motor skills to open the peg to peg it onto the fence rather than balance it.

Help your child develop their imagination and be able to play alone as well as supported by an adult. Ask them what they would like to do and observe what they are interested in. The more the activities involve children’s interest the more engaged they will be!
