Leigh, from Kent, shares her princess crown tart recipe. Let’s take a look…

What did you make?

We made princess crown tarts. To make these simple yet delicious treats……

You will need:
-Ready to roll shortcrust pastry⁣
– jam or marmalade ⁣
– a star cookie cutter
muffin tray⁣
sugar decorations⁣

Method:
– preheat oven to 200 degrees ⁣- lay out pastry and cut out 12 stars. ⁣
– place a star in each of the muffin tray holes (ensure the star is large enough so the points come up the sides)⁣.
– make small holes in the bottom of each star with a fork to ensure the pastry doesn’t rise too much .⁣
– add a tablespoon of jam/marmalade to each of the stars.⁣
– place in the oven for 15-20 mins .⁣
– once baked and cooled remove from muffin tray and decorate.⁣

It’s a super simple recipe and Miss C, age 4, made these independently.
Adult guidance required with instructions and using the oven.

Do you have any other projects planned?

All of our play is low cost and mostly using what we already have at home.
