Lucy, from Chertsey, sent in this great idea. Let’s take a look at it…

What did you do?

I make cakes and this was my daughters birthday cake for this year, it went down very well with everyone. It made a lovely centre piece too.

I used Wilton or sugarflair food colourings as I find others too watery so you don’t get the perfect colours.

Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…

My name is Lucy, I am from Chertsey in Surrey. I have three children Lacey who’s 10, Scarlett who’s 7 and George who’s 3. They all seem to enjoy playing with fondant and making things, does get rather messy but I don’t mind. I hope that this cake makes people find the confidence in themselves to make it, like I say practice makes perfect, we all have to start somewhere like I did.

How are you finding being housebound so far?

It’s hard with the homeschooling and all different ages but we have fun too, be nice to get back to reality tho.

Do you have any tips for other parents?

Just make sure your a happy mum or dad, this is really hard on the kids and us of course but they are small and a lot don’t understand why they can’t go near family, go to school or even go out x
