4-year-old Max (potentially with a bit of help from his parents!) shows us how he made this lovely remembrance rainbow art. Let’s take a closer look…

What did you do:

When Max found out he was not going back to school he was sad, he also thought his teacher would be sad so he wanted to make her something to remember them, remember the class of 2019/2020.

The Project was to make a picture that the school could have to share who the teacher was and the students in that class.

Max decided to draw and colour in a rainbow as they are significant to lockdown and children being presently called rainbow children. Max then wanted to make sure each of the students names where in the picture too.

Things you need:

  • List of all the students names, see the school
  • The Teachers name along with teacher assistance’s, see the school – is there a name for the room that class uses on a daily basis?
  • Max used a frame purchased at IKEA, but any empty frame will suffice
  • Water colour paint
  • – Poster paint
  • – Coloured pens
  • – Plain paper
  • – Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Using paper, create colourful rainbow with paint or pens.
  2. Write whatever information is important to your class, names of students teachers etc.
  3. Open frame, attached painting share with school.

What have you been doing in this lockdown period:

My name is Max and I am 4. I have a 4-month-old baby sister, Ivy. Together, we and my mum (Ruth) are in full lockdown. My dad Shaun is a key worker and has been at work throughout lockdown!

Mums comments: we have had fun and made lots of memories, however, we have also struggled to keep entertainment and school work enjoyable and everyone has struggled emotionally throughout the weeks we have been confined.

Tips for other parents:
I think housebound with kids is great and gives people lots of different ideas of how to keep entertaining children during this difficult time and should be shared to more Facebook groups so everyone has access to it!
