Julie, from Buckley, North Wales, sent in this great idea. Let’s take a look at it…

What did you do?

We made Hogwart’s uniforms out of my 9 year olds too small Harry Potter socks, we also did the same with some other socks too!

It was really easy!
We just cut the bottom half off and snipped two arm holes.

Do you have any other projects planned?

We’re making a Fruit Machine, and Pool Table out of cardboard to cheer my husband up for Father’s Day as he’s missing the local pub!

Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…

My name’s Julie, I m a married hairdresser/barber with a 9 year old daughter. We love Harry Potter, reading, and crafting.

How are you finding being housebound so far?

My husband is still working so it’s mainly me and little’un. We have good days and not so good days. It can be a bit of a fight to get proper schoolwork done.
We’ve been gardening and enjoying the sunshine whenever possible. I ve been doing socially distanced art and craft lessons on the front lawn with my daughter and a couple of the neighbours kids.

Do you have any tips for other parents?

Don’t panic about being behind with schoolwork, just teach the kids what you know and they’ll learn anyway. Remember to give each space and get as much outdoor time as you can.

Has being part of our community helped you?

It reminds me that we’re all in the same boat and it’s okay to have a bad day!
