Saba, from West Bromwich, sent in this great thank you art idea. Let’s take a look at it…

What did you do?

Zakariyya and I wanted to say thank you to his teacher for doing such an amazing job so we decided to try some melted wax crayon art.

All you need is some crayons, a grater, a marker pen to write your message, a canvas and a bit of artistic flare.

I started by grating lots of crayons then Zakariyya and I positioned the wax shavings on the canvas to create our desired design. We finished by putting the canvas under the grill for approximately 40 seconds until the wax had melted. Just be careful to watch carefully as charcoal isn’t a good look.

It’s so easy and any age group can do it, but the effect is really impactful.

Do you have any other projects planned?

I intend to make a superhero hand wash character and some evil covid villains. This will be followed with activities around good hand hygiene.
