Audrey, from Ireland, sent in this great caterpillar art idea. Let’s take a look at it…

What did you do?

All you need is some coloured paint and paper. Depending on your childs age you can either let them paint their hand or you do it and then press down onto a blank page, when done repeat once or twice (depending on how big you want your caterpillar) and then paint a little caterpillar head.

It’s very simple set up and what child doesn’t love to paint their hands.

Do you have any other projects planned?

I have just bought a tuff tray so I am loving coming up with ideas to do with it.

Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…

I’m Audrey, from Wicklow Ireland. I am a mum to a 5yr, 4yr and 15 month old.

Do you have any tips for other parents?

Try to ignore the mess and just let them play. I find the kids get a lot of time out of messy play – painting/play doh/water beads, the messier the better and longer they play for.

What are your children’s favourite books?

Room on a Broom, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Goodnight Moon, The Gruffalo.

What toys would you recommend to other parents?

Wooden toys are my favourite and can be passed down for generations.

Has this website and community helped you?

It’s great for ideas to do with kids.
