Helen, from North Wales, shares her turtle craft idea with us. Let’s take a look…

What did you do?

These turtles are super easy arts and crafts! The children used PVA glue to stick bits of tissue paper on to the back of a paper plate. Once dry we had some fluffy green heads and tails and some sparkly blue legs. They stuck goggly eyes on the head and then stuck all the bits on to the underside of the plate to create some lovely arts and craft turtles! They were both very pleased with themselves!

It was a lovely activity to do together! After a relaxing day, it was nice to do something together!

Do you have any tips for other parents?

Go with what you are happy to do. Keep things simple and use what you have at home! We often use recycled items and have lots of fun! A cardboard box can be used for so many things! I always keep them!

What are your family’s favourite board game(s)/card game(s)?

We love orchard toys games, especially Shopping List!

What are your children’s favourite books?

Our children love all of the Julia Donaldson books.

What toys would you recommend to other parents?

I think that loose parts, and a good set of flash cards are very useful! I also like paints! You can do lots with them!

Has this website and community helped you?

I think it is great to share activities on here, and I was contacted on Instagram to upload a previous activity- I enjoyed doing it so I am uploading another one!
