Take a look at this vibrant tyre planter created by Karen, from East Sussex…

What did you do?

My car failed its MOT due to a bulge in the tyre, decided to take said tyre home and create a planter.

Instructions:

  1. First I thoroughly washed and dried the tyre.
  2. I then applied a primer, photo attached, I didn’t even use half a tin of this, plus it dried really quickly.
  3. I then sprayed it using just one tin.
  4. I put some rocks in for drainage.
  5. Added compost.
  6. Added plants.

From start to finish, it took 2 days.

Tell us a bit about yourself…

My name is Karen and I live in East Sussex.  I am Married, been together 33 years and we have two children: Chloe age 15 and Oliver who is 11.  I really am not hands-on with this type of thing so am quite impressed with myself. Trust me if I can do it you can too.

How have you been finding the lockdown?

Lockdown has been difficult, we run our own building company so husband hasn’t been working. Daughter has been brilliant at getting on with work, Son really not so good…..Xbox all the way
