Sarah from Sheffield has 3 children – 2 girls age 15 years old, 12 years old and an 8-month-old boy. She loves all things craft related and we can see she has a great attention to detail with these beautiful Wine Bottle Lamps. Let’s see how it’s done….

What you will need:

  • empty wine bottles
  • mod podge glue
  • napkins
  • chalk/acrylic paint
  • battery-operated bottle lights

Instructions:

  1. Tear image from napkin and remove back layers.
  2. glue to the bottle so the image is face down.
  3. once dry use the back layer from napkins to cove the bottle leaving a window at the front.
  4. once dry, paint using acrylic or chalk paint. You can then add more images from the napkin on the outside using mod podge with image facing out.
  5. seal using another coat of the glue.
  6. add rope or gems if desired.
  7. I used gravel inside and then added the lights.

Make sure each layer is dried before moving on.

What’s your next project idea?

More bottle lights.

How are you finding being housebound with kids so far?

Hard. Struggling with not being able to spend time with family and seeing how much they are missing my children is heartbreaking. My girls have made me so proud of the way they are handling it all, they are super helpful and support each other most of the time. They still have days when they fight like crazy though. We all love arts and crafts, so we are keeping ourselves busy.

Any tips to help people when they are housebound with kids?

Breath! We found crafting brings us together and it really helps. Bit also make sure you all take time for yourself whenever you can. We all need that little bit of time alone to reflect or to relax and clear our mind no matter what age.
