Emma, from Oxfordshire, sent in this great cardboard snake idea. Let’s take a look at it…

What did you do?

We painted cardboard tubes using a selection of poster paints we thought might be appropriate for our snakes.

We waited for the paint to dry and then I cut them in spirals and we added a pipe cleaner tongue and some googly eyes to complete them. We think they’re pretty cute!

The children choosing their colours for their snakes was interesting. Also seeing their faces once we added the googly eye! It bought the snakes to life!

Do you have any other projects planned?

The children really enjoyed making the snakes and it sparked their interest around snakes and how they move. We also talked about the shape of a spiral so I think we might make some paper spiral snakes next and the children can have a go at cutting them out themselves.
