Fatema, from India, sent in this great monkey paper bag activity. Let’s take a look at it…

To make a paper bag you need:
1. Any paper (I have used a brown envelope paper best from waste)
2. Glue
3. Pipecleaner(for the handles)
4. Marker
5. Googly eyes
6. Craft paper (to make the ears of monkey and to decorate the bag as your child wants & to make bananas)
7. Crayon

Method:
Firstly, gather all things you need and
Step -1 Spread the brown paper
Step-2 Fold it And stick the other side of paper with the glue To stick the other side of the bag
Step-3 Fold the lower part in a shape of a triangle and paste one upon each other and seal it with a glue
Step-4 Press the edges on both of the sides of the bag to make a fold in a middle.
Step-5 stick the pipe cleaner with the glue as a handle

Now the bag is ready.

With a marker draw a monkey face. Ask your child to decorate the bag by sticking the craft papers as they wished.

Make a little hole near the mouth of the monkey so your child can feed the bananas and count how many monkey ate.

My kid is 3 years old and he wasn’t able to make the proper folds to make a bag but he decorated instead and counted again and again. He asked how many bananas the monkey ate and was very excited to carry the bag and roam everywhere.

Do you have any other projects planned?

I’m making community helpers paper plate caps.

How are you finding being housebound so far?

It’s really difficult to manage home, work and kids at the same time. But being housebound with kids making me feel so good as I am getting a lot of time to listen to him play with him to know him more… I love making activities with him as far as my kid is interested in doing it with me lol.

Do you have any tips for other parents?

Be calm. And listen to your child no matter what. They are small and innocent and they learn from our behaviour the way we behave at home that’s what reflect in their mind. So always think of this while you speak to them or to another while they are around.

Has this website and community helped you?

So many good activities to engage with the kids it’s what helping me out right now.
