Claire, from the UK, shows us this fantastic alphabet treasure hunt activity…

What did you do?

  1. Make alphabet cards (I laminated letters).
  2. Lay them out on a surface (table/floor/ tuff tray).
  3. Sound out the letters or for older children asked them to identify the letters and then hunt for an object that begins with the letter they chose.
  4. Once found place objects on the corresponding letter.

The objects need to be size related to the cards or use a bigger space.

Tell us all a bit about yourself…

I’m Claire and I have a 4.5 yr old boy and a 2.5 yr old girl we are in the UK.

How are you finding being housebound with kids so far?

Its ok. I’m from a childcare background so we are just carrying on as normal.

Any tips to help people when they are housebound with kids?

Set yourself a daily task or activity. Or even a weekly topic. Use books and prompts for ideas.
