Emma, from UK, shares her Family Jar of Fun activity. Let’s take a look…

What did you do?

The beauty of a homemade project is that you can create exactly what works for you and your family. You can fill this activity jar with whatever you want, however simple or fancy and add to it over the years. Simply pull out a heart (or whatever you choose to fill yours with) and select an activity to enjoy together.

I think the older your child is the more ideas you’ll get! If you’re making this as a gift for a new baby for example, then you’re going to have to think of all of the ideas yourself!

Do you have any other projects planned?

I always have several ideas in mind and I’m not terribly patient so I never know exactly which one is coming next! But I’ve got a few plans for our outdoor area so hopefully that. Check out our Instagram @everlydayplay to see how it goes!

Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…

I’m Emma. Mum to one. She’s nearly two! We live in the South West of the UK. I’m a teacher by trade but being a Mummy is definitely the best job I’ve ever had. I’m really keen on fitness too and teach a few group exercise classes.

How are you finding being housebound so far?

Obviously it has its moments but I’m super grateful for all of the family time that we wouldn’t have had otherwise.

Do you have any tips for other parents?

Follow their interests if you can. Know that you’re doing your best. Ask for help.
Just breathe!

Has this website and community helped you?

There are so many different ideas! It’s a real celebration of all of the wonderful things people have been up to.
