Nadine, from America, flew over this great idea. Let’s take a look at it…

What did you do?

If your child loves hot air balloons, this is a great craft for them. They can really get creative and design their ideal balloon.

What You’ll Need:⁣

Paper plate⁣
Construction paper⁣
Glue⁣
Scissors
Extras to decorate your balloon⁣

1. Draw a basket onto construction paper, cut it out, and glue it to the back of your paper plate so it hangs down under the plate.

2. Decorate your paper plate however you would like. We used pom poms, tissue paper and paint to decorate our balloons. You can use whatever you would like. Get creative!⁣

If you use mini pom poms like we did, make sure to glue them on very well as they can be a choking hazard.

Adult supervision required.

This was a rather simple craft to put together and we didn’t run into any issue.

Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…

My name is Nadine and I am the mother of twin 8 year old girls. I have a degree in early childhood education but have been staying home with my daughters. I briefly went back to teaching this year and loved every minute of it. A classroom is a home away from home for me.

How are you finding being housebound so far?

Being home with children all day is both lovely and challenging. I try my best to find the humor in the midst of the chaos to get through the day.

Do you have any tips for other parents?

Keeping on a schedule has really worked for my family. I’m quite flexible with the schedule and my daughters can change things around, but having the schedule visible for them helps reduce their stress because they know what to expect.

Has this website and community helped you?

I think it’s wonderful that housebound with kids shares different fun and educational activities for parents to do with their children.
