Georgina, from Warfield, sent in these great repeating pattern activity ideas. Let’s take a look at them…

What did you do?

A simple way to learn repeating patterns… I added magnetic stars to some pre made rainbow rice and then provided a magnetic board to continue the patterns. Then we moved onto pattern sticker snakes…

It worked really well because it was engaging to find the stars and try to copy the patterns. Magnetic activities are always a winner!
Then the sticker snakes were fun and provided another way to make repeating patterns.

How are you finding being housebound so far?

I’ve been working (part time) but I love anytime I get to spend with my little girl. It’s a pleasure!

Do you have any tips for other parents?

At the beginning, I felt better if I was organised so I drew up a little timetable… I didn’t necessarily stick to it but it gave me a focus if need be. Plus I love keeping scrapbooks of everything we get up too. I set out play activities as a surprise each morning and let my little girl find it and explore… if she naturally gravitates for an activity, she’s more likely to play for longer! That way, I get a bit of time to myself too!

Has this website and community helped you?

It’s a great idea.
