Gina, from USA, shares a fun game that her family enjoys… the shape toss.  Let’s find our more…

What did you do?

Has anyone else increased their deliveries over the last few months and ended up with a cardboard box (or 10!) hanging around?! We love recycling boxes for activities, the possibilities are truly endless!

For this, I used a box cutter and made shapes. I added tape to keep them from ripping, but it’s not a necessary step! I also taped the boxes closed so they kept their form. We took them out into the yard and lined them up. We called out the shapes. We touched the shapes. We traced the shapes with our fingers. We tossed balls into them. We stacked them up & knocked them down. We moved them around the yard & his things in them! We have played & learned with them for weeks!

Don’t leave them out in the rain! We didn’t grab them and we had to recycle them and we were all sad to see them go!!

Do you have any other projects planned?

We love anything connected to movement, to nature & that sparks creativity! We love sensory play. We love water play; We love squishing & scooping & pouring our way through play! We love moving our bodies & fresh air & sunshine! We create & play all day!

Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…

How are you finding being housebound so far?

We miss our family & friends but have spent the time getting back to basics…taking time to reconnect & play & enjoy the special time together!

Do you have any tips for other parents?

Get outside as often as you can (if possible!) Let kids explore & play & create as often as you can! Dance, run, & wiggle out the stress of being stuck at home! Take time to connect & rest & reset as often as needed!
