Jennifer, from Cebu in the Philippines, sent in this great frozen animal rescue idea. Let’s take a look at it…

What did you do?

We did a Frozen Animals Rescue.

To set up this activity:
1. First, I made some ice to make a classic round I molded the ice in my spare balloons which was left from my little one’s birthday party last year or you could use any molders as you like or available in your homes.
2. Food coloring was optional, though. Just to add a little bit color to make it more interesting for toddlers since they easily get distracted.
3. Put some miniature toys in the water before sealing it up. I used farm animals since my daughter was obsessed with them. You can also use cars, dinosaurs etc. The possibilities are endless for this ice melting activity.
4. Froze them up in the freezer for 24 hours and then they’re good to go.
5. Provide some tools to help them melt the ice and save the animals frozen inside it.
I provided her the unused milk bottle as that what’s available in our home.
6. Perfect for when the sun is out, set it up just outside the house.
7. Join in the fun. No book says that Mothers can’t have have fun, too and I’m sure your babies will have good memories with you.

😊
🙏

P.S. To make it more interesting for your little ones, sing a song or any nursery rhyme or tell stories to make it interactive. Good luck and have fun!

I like how my daughter was so focused with getting the animals out. She was so determined to helping them out. I can see how her determination, patience and kindness and her vocabulary is improving, too. She’s now saying out loud how she feels like, “ It’s so cold, Mama! “, “ Are they crying, Mama? “ etc. You will be amazed. Children by nature are kind and soft hearted, we should nurture that.
